I don't know about you, but I thought last night was really good. I was glad to be able to just take some extended time and pray for revival, forgiveness and for hurting people. I needed that. We talked briefly at the end of the night about 3 main things in light of our world today.
1. These really are starting to look like the "last days" (2 Tim. 3:1-5). What are your thoughts about how we should be living if we really are in the "last days?"
2. Things that happen in the world can be very scary. Satan would love to paralyze us with fear and stay in our safe little bubble. We looked at several verses that reminded us that if God is on our side, there's no one stronger out there (Matt. 10:26-31; Rom. 8:31-29), and that God will lead us through this world as a Good Shepherd (Psalm 23). What are some ways that Satan would use fear to keep us from doing what God would want us to do? How do we fight against that?
3. People can do some very cruel and hateful things in the world. Some of them can hurt us VERY badly and leave horrible scars on our lives. What should our response to those people be? What should we do with all the hurt and anger that comes when we are wronged? How does the parable of the Unmerciful Servant (Matt. 18:21-35) play into our lives today? Is there ever a sin that someone commits against us that is so horrible that we can't forgive them?
What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear from you guys.
